Kip Hickman earned his master’s degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Music Performance and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. 

Hickman holds the title of Principal Trombone in the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and the West Michigan Symphony. He has performed with ensembles across Michigan and has soloed with the West Michigan Symphony, Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra, and Western Michigan University Trombone Choir. 

Hickman has taught at Grand Valley State University and Goshen College, as well as teaching privately throughout Michigan. He now teaches private lessons at Crescendo Academy of Music and coaches brass players in the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra and Kalamazoo Kids in Tune.
